Tag Filtering

One of the most powerful and flexible aspects of SI Lead Manager – Beta 6 is the ability to filter what leads you see by Tags.  Tags are used as a way to describe a lead and can be assigned to a lead when importing them into the system or individually by editing the lead.   To find out more about “Tags” you can go here.

How To Filter

Filtering “Or Style”

Step #1:

Start typing the desired Tag into the Tag Selection Dropdown.  As you type, available tags beginning with what you are typing will be displayed to you for selection.

Tag_Filter_Dropdown

Step #2:

If the tag you want is fully displayed in the typing area, you can press “ENTER” on your keyboard to add the tag to the Tags Used To Filter Lead List area.

Or

If you choose to select a tag from the “Suggested” list, simply use the keyboards “DOWN ARROW” to move to the tag you wish to select, then press “ENTER” on your keyboard to add the tag to the Tags Used To Filter Lead List area.

Example…

Tag_Filter_Or_Only

If this is what you entered into the Tags Used To Filter Lead List area, all leads that have been marked with the Tags Probate OR Out of State Owners OR Foreclosures would be shown.  So in simple terms, as long as a lead is marked with one of the three tags it will be shown.

Filtering “And Style”

The AND filter will give you the ability to show all leads that include all the tags you specified.  This is different from the OR filter because in that filter a lead only needs to have been marked with one of the specified tags.

*optional Step: Clear all existing Tags by pressing Clear All Tags

Step #1:

Add an “And Group”  by selecting the Advanced Options button.  You will then be presented with 2 choices, Select the Add “And” Group

Step #4:

Repeat steps 1 through 3 until you are finished.

Example…

Tag_Filter_And_Only

If this is what you entered into the Tags Used To Filter Lead List area, all the leads displayed in the Lead list grid will be marked with each of the three Tags.  It’s read like this…

Show me leads that are marked with tags General AND Send Mail AND Closed

Filtering “And Not Style”

The And Not tag is very useful for saving extra key strokes.  Instead of trying to include 9 out of 10 tags in a long OR style filter, you can just include the one that you don’t want to see.

*optional Step: Clear all existing Tags by pressing Clear All Tags

Step #1:

Start typing the desired Tag into the Tag Selection Dropdown.  As you type, available tags beginning with what you are typing will be displayed to you for selection.

Add an “And Group”  by selecting the Advanced Options button.  You will then be presented with 2 choices, Select the Add “And Not” Group

Tag_Filter_Advanced

Step #4:

Add additional tags that you do NOT want to see leads that have been marked with.  For instance I want to see all General leads except ones that are Closed or On Hold, I’d add those two tags to the AND NOT group.

Example…

Tag_Filter_AndNot_Only

If this is what you entered into the Tags Used To Filter Lead List area, all leads marked with the “General” tag and NOT marked with “Closed” or “On Hold” will appear in the lead list grid.

This filter would be read like…Give me all leads that are marked with General AND NOT Closed OR On Hold

Advanced Filter Using OR, AND and AND NOT

Once you feel comfortable with regular tag filters, you can get very complex and combine all the styles into one very specific filter Like this…

Tag_Filter_Or_And_AndNot

In most complex examples I like to start of with the base of  “All” which gives me all leads and then I like to filter it down from there.  So I want ALL leads that I’m either Talking To, that are Closed or that I’ve made an Offer Too BUT have not responded to one of my direct mail pieces (this is a stupid search but it illustrates how to use complex filters).

Show me leads marked with All AND Talking To OR Closed OR Offer Made AND NOT Responded

Removing a Tag

You can remove a tag from the list at any time by clicking on the orange that is to the right of the tag.

Tag_Filter_Remove_Tag

Remove a Tag Group (And Group or And Not Group)

You can remove an entire grouping of tags by clicking on the orange X on an AND line or an AND NOT line.  Doing so will remove that line and all the tags below it and up until another Group line (AND or AND NOT) or there are no more tags.
