Assign Tag To Lead

In order to take advantage of the organizational system in SI Lead Manager you must place Tags on Leads.  You can be as broad as you want or as narrow as you want when picking which tags to place on which leads.   You can tag leads when you first add the lead to the system or afterwards.

How To

Tag When Adding A New Lead

When adding a new lead to the system (See Add New Lead) you will have the opportunity to place tags on that lead.   The lower portion of the New Lead form is where this is done…

There are three tag types that you MUST assign to any lead; Lead Type, Lead Source and General.

Lead Type Tags: 

defaults to the first tag in the drop down list, but you may select any of the options.

Lead Source Tags: 

defaults to the first tag in the drop down list, but you may select any of the options.

General Tags:

The default tag for General is the All tag which is mandatory and can not be deleted.  You may add additional tags by selecting existing tags from the drop down box, or typing in a new tag.

Pressing Enter on the keyboard will add a tag to the list.

When typing in the box, you will get suggestions on which leads you might be looking to add.  Use the mouse to select the lead if it is in the suggestions or use the down arrow keyboard key to scroll down to the tag, then press Enter on your keyboard to add it to the list.

 

Add Tags When Importing A Lead List

When importing a list of leads from an excel file (See Importing From Excel), you will have the chance to assign common tags to all the leads that are being imported.  Assigning tags to individual leads at this time is not allowed.

General Tags:

Adding a Tag to an Existing Lead

Step #1:  Select Lead in Leads Manager

Step #2:  Open up Tag Manager

Option #1:  Right Click Method

Right click desired lead and then select Tag Manager from drop down menu

After selecting desired lead, under the Action Menu, select Tag Manager

Step #3:  Add New Tags

The Lead Tag Manager form that appears will show you  the existing Tags assign to the lead.

To add a new Tag, select an existing tag from the drop down list, or type in a new tag here…

Once you’ve added the Tag it is automatically Saved.

Step #4:  Press Close

Delete Tag from Existing Lead

Once a lead is added to the system, whether it be through the New Lead Form or the Import Wizard, you can add additional tags to it.

Step #1:  Select Lead in Leads Manager

Step #2:  Open up Tag Manager

Option #1:  Right Click Method

Right click desired lead and then select Tag Manager from drop down menu

After selecting desired lead, under the Action Menu, select Tag Manager

Step #3:  Remove Tag(s)

The Lead Tag Manager form that appears will show you  the existing Tags assign to the lead.

To remove an existing Tag, click on the X to the right of the tag…

Step #4:  Press Close

Add Tag to Multiple Existing Leads

Once leads are added to the system, whether it be through the New Lead Form or the Import Wizard, you can add additional tags to them.

Step #1:  Select Leads in Leads Manager

To select multiple leads in the grid, hold down the Control (ctrl) keyboard key while clicking the desired leads.   You can also selected all leads by, Under the Action Menu, clicking Select All

Step #2:  Open up Tag Manager

After selecting desired leads, under the Action Menu, select Tag Manager

Step #3:  Add New Tags

The Lead Tag Manager form that appears will show you the existing Tags that are common to all of the leads you have selected.

To add a Tag, select an existing tag from the drop down list, or type in a new tag.  You do either here…

Once you’ve added the Tag(s) to the list they are automatically Saved.

Step #4:  Press Close

Delete Tag(s) Assigned to Multiple Leads

Once leads are added to the system, whether it be through the New Lead Form or the Import Wizard, you can remove tags assigned to those leads if they no longer fit your needs.

Step #1:  Select Leads in Leads Manager

To select multiple leads in the grid, hold down the Control (ctrl) keyboard key while clicking the desired leads.   You can also selected all leads by, Under the Action Menu, clicking Select All
